PREPPING FOR THE RV INSPECTION

To ensure we can provide you the best inspection possible, we ask that you guarantee access to the RV and provide full hook-up service to the RV, including the following:

Running Water
Appropriate Electrical Service (20, 30, 50 AMP)
Stable, Dry Flat Parking Surface
Access Or Keys To All Doors Including Entry Door And Storage Compartments
Refrigerator Needs To Be On 12 Hours For Proper Temperature
Preferably Sewage Hook-Up, But Not Mandatory

NOTE: IDEALLY THE RV WILL BE PARKED AT AN RV PARK WHERE FULL HOOK-UP FACILITIES ARE INCLUDED WITH A DAILY SITE RENTAL.

Our Life and Safety Inspection addresses 15 Life and Safety items covering potentially catastrophic points of failure.

Perform and document LP gas timed leak test at cooktop burner spud for 5 minutes at 8 inches of water column gas pressure
Test the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) circuits in the 6-foot range of the water areas of the bathroom, kitchen, and exterior receptacles
Test all wall receptacles for correct polarity and ground fault
Test the exterior skin for hot skin that would cause electrical shock
Emergency Exit Windows, Verify all safety windows are operational
Fire Extinguisher: Verify unit is secure in the bracket and the dial indicates the extinguisher is fully charged
Smoke/Fire Detector: Test and verify operation of unit and document expiration date of detector
Carbon Monoxide Detector (if applicable): Test and verify operation of unit and document expiration date of detector
LP Gas Detector: Verify gas detection and audio alarm. The document expiration date of the detector
Verify the rubber grommet is properly sealed around the LP gas line of the water heater.
LP Cylinder: Check condition and Date of inspection.
RV Batteries: Check external condition, date, and ensure they are connected properly.
RV Tires: Check external condition and Date of manufacture.
Roof: Check for obvious repairs and appearance.
External Safety Lights: Illumination and operation.

The RV fluid analysis is examined by a professional laboratory of the RV’s most essential fluids, such as Engine Coolant, Engine Oil, Transmission Fluid, Generator Oil and Generator Coolant.

WHY DO YOU NEED A FLUID ANALYSIS?

This laboratory service generally takes 3-5 business days to complete, and it will provide invaluable details about the RV’s essential fluids. Studies show that 34% of oil samples come back as abnormal, with 3% in the critical range. Coolant results are even worse with 63% coming back as abnormal and 11% marked as critical.
